Default 1968 6cyl rear end

I installed front disc brakes from a 1976 Granada but would now like to change the rear end to tge same 5 lug bolt pattern.
What donor cars will interchange with my mustang rear end? I'm new at this so please be patient

anyone have info on this?

Are there any adaptors to change 4 lug to 5 lug on the rear? I'm in the process of upgrading to Granda brakes in the front and would like 5 lugs all around.... but I'm not planning on dropping in a larger engine so a larger rear end is not a must.

you'll need a 8" or 9" out of a 67 or 68 i believe. search ford 9 inch rear end in google, there are some sites out there that list the widths of all the rears, however the spring perches may be different... of course one you do the rear to get that 5 lug, you'll have to do the driveshaft, i know its gotta be lenghtened, and thats the question i have on my 66

Just go to a junk yard and pick up a complete rear end with axle and brakes, etc. from a 1977-1980 Lincoln Versailles.

I was at a pull apart the other day, and just so happened to walk by a mercury something, which i believe would have worked right? anyway, i decided to look at it, and someone had already swipped the spindles from it. Dang

what about just buying the axles?

I don't really want to replace the whole rear end.

Thanks for the info already provided.

Here is a link to what you need. It is everything you wanted to know about 9 inch ford rearends. I'm not saying that you need a 9 inch, an 8 inch will work just fine. At the very bottom on the page is a table that lists axle widths. These will be the same for 8 inch or 9 inch in what ever car they came in. Long story short, the table says that all 67-70 rearends are the same width. Anything in that year range will work from a Comet Cougar Mustang or Fairlane. Hope that helps. Here is the link http://www.maliburacing.com/ford_9_i..._nine_inch.htm Scrap the idea of changing axles. you need acomplete housing. The 6 banger rear ends are junk.
