Touch question!

I have been thinking about swapping out my C4 Tranny and putting in a T5 Tranny. But my question is, "Would anyone know if a 5 speed tranny out of a 1997 Cobra be compatible in my 1967 Coupe? You know because of new cars have a computer system that runs with just about everything on the Cobra, and really know computer system on my Coupe."

1996 and up mustang had a 4.6L modular motor. i dont know if you just switch the bellhousings if they are compatible. i dont think there is much in terms of a computer on a manual trans in newer cars. just the reverse light switch and speedometer cable.

 

ya, i think that tranny should fit but i recomend a new bellhousing. check out www.mustangmonthly.com they did a C4 to T-5 swap a while back and should have a lot of info on how to do it but as far as you computer problem, i dont think its anything.

 

my recommendation is to keep the c4 and do a rebuild and put a shift kit in the trany. you can also put a new B&M shifter, it is well worth it......
