Hello all, i have a 1968 coupe and it originally came with a 4 speed tranny. When i got the car it had an automatic swapped in already. I would like to put a 4 speed back in it. Does anyone know where i could find a reasonably priced 4 speed tranny. By this i mean do you know of anyother vehicles that came with a 4 speed tranny that may be a bit more plentiful than an actual "mustang" 4 speed. I ask this because i know of a 4 speed that came out of a mustang and the guy wants a grand for the tranny alone. I would think that there is a cheaper route. It doesnt necessarily have top have the ratios of a mustang 4 speed because i already have 3.73 gears in the rear, so getup and go is not an issue that way. Any help is appreciated

 

i have a 4 speed top loader sitting in the shed, however, i dont think it will fit a mustang, because its got a tailshaft for a galaxy. The differences im sure are not huge, but i know there is a diff
