yeah, lol. I can see some people acutally doing that though. I bet one day, somebody will be asking that question, and not pushing in the clutch will be the answer.

HAHAHAHAHa, yeah. Most people nowadays dont know anything about cars. I was in auto tech one day, and pointed at the alternator, and asked someone what it was. They said a sparkplug, because of the little rubber boot, on the back of the alternator.

Yeah, It's bad, man. It drives me crazy how kids are these days. Now im only 17, but it'd be hard to find someone my age that knows as much as i do about cars, and cares about them the way i do.

I've changed the fuel filter, the PCV valve and have worked with the idle speed. None of these had any effect.

I think the problem is worsening. I had it out yesterday but only managed to get a block or two before turning around. There was no power in the upper end and when I let go the gas, it was as if I had turned off the key, sorta like a Jake brake without all the noise. If I let it coast without adding gas, it stalls out, even with the idle speed cranked up.

We just had a new engine and rad dropped into our Jeep. I told the mechanic about my problem, he suggested it might be electrical in nature. Check for arcing and how much voltage is going thru the cables.

I haven't checked the floats yet as that assembly is underneath the power steering. But I think that may be the next thing to look at since it does appear to be a fuel starvation problem. Perhaps water in the line?

Could a VAC leak be detected by spraying some carb cleaner around the intake manifold, or somewhere else?

Clogged jets will require a rebuild or just change out the jets?
