Default clutch fan?

Can anyone tell me if a '66 289 4 bbl. w/AC would've had a 5 blade clutch fan from the factory? Thanks.
The restoration is coming along well. The motor is darker than the pic shows.

Yes if your car came with a/c, than it will have the 5 blade fan attached with a clutch. You should also have a fan shroud attached to the radiator as well. Ford cars with a/c got the 5 blade fan with the clutch and shroud for better air flow and cooling. Oddly enough, if your car came with a/c, Ford also tinted the windows a shade or so darker than stock, the reason for this was to keep the temp inside the cabin of the car cooler.... check out some cars next time your at a show youll see what i mean

Maybe in '66, but my '65 289 with air came with a 4 blade fixed fan and no shroud. I had to add those.

Thanks for the help, guys. All of the glass is tinted. I'm putting this car back together and I'm wanting to be sure the parts I took off are correct. The only thing that's not correct is the missing radiator shroud and I've located one. I have some pics on picturetrail.com if anyone wants to see the car.

Wow Dan....I looked at all 53 pictues. But, like a good movie, I kept waiting for the end where it was totally finished. But, man....you have really done a beautiful job on that vert. I am impressed not only with the quality of the work, but your desire to keep it original. Your car did not come with a shroud from the factory, but with an upgrade to a three or four row radiator and an overflow tank, the shroud is just another necessary item to keep these engines cool in the summer with the air on. But, if you are going concours, put the 4 blade fan back on with the 2 row radiator and no shroud or overflow tank.

Thanks for the compliments! It's not finshed, I just took the last 2 pics about an hour ago. I posted a link to the pics a few months ago but I guess nobody could link to them, except me, for some reason. I've been working on it daily again and it's been fun. The car has factory AC. I can tell where someone has repaired the radiator. Do you think someone just changed it from a 4 blade to the clutch fan and that'll be the only change I need to do to return the cooling system to original? If that's the case, I won't need to buy the shroud. Thanks!

I also use pictuetrail, and you have to make sure you have not assigned a password to the album you want to share. Yeah, obviously someone in the past added the clutch fan blade, so by simply replacing it with a concours correct one will put her back to original condition. I would, however, either get the two row rad cored, or get a new one if you haven't already.
