i put in a brand new autozone distributor on my 68 mustang and theres a bolt that holds it down what i forgot to put on is the little metal piece that the bolt goes into and holds the dist. i forgot to put the piece in but the bolt itself is holding the dist. i dont know what i should do i found out yesterday but i changed the dist. 4 weeks ago what worries me the most is that my friend told as long the dist. doesnt move its fine and it doesnt its on real tight but im still worried???????????????????????????????/

 

i would really pull that bolt out and get that metal clamp thing back in there. That clamp prevents the dizy from spinning, while a nut will hold it in place...it may be a matter of time before it gets just a little loose and than youll be up a creek. Seriously it will take you all of 5 min to do, and will give you the comfort of knowing its in there, and is secure

Why did you even worry about it? all you had to do was get a 1/2in (i think) wrench and fix it. It wouldnt even take 5 min.
