Default Gas spill while filling?

I have a 68 coupe, and when I go fill her up, it always spills out. Unless I go VERY SLOW, it seems to be a problem. Is there a baffle in the filler to prevent backflow towards the cap?

Thanks

No baffle. It is a problem we all face. The filler tube on these old cars are not at a degree angle to accept the fuel at the full rate. Life is a bitch.

Nah, as long as you don't let it sit on there afterwards, you'll be fine. Just wipe it off and go.

I've had real good luck by turning the handle sidways while I'm filling up.

I was listening to some gansta rap from the homie next to me at the gas station, and it kind of came natural...Yo!.

YMMV,

Thanks for the quick answer, I guess as long as it's not just me, I'll deal with it.

I've been known to use the windshield sponge/scraper to wash off the spilled gas on the paint. I also have a roll of paper towels in the trunk that I use to wiper her down. Welcome to the imperfect world of classic mustangs.
