Gas spill while filling?
ORIGINAL: Soaring
I've been known to use the windshield sponge/scraper to wash off the spilled gas on the paint. I also have a roll of paper towels in the trunk that I use to wiper her down. Welcome to the imperfect world of classic mustangs.

One time, the nozzle didn't cut off, and it spilled out all over me. I was late to school, and I didn't have a change of clothes. (Not that the change of clothes would get the smell off my skin though.) I had people in history class sniffing the air and asking what the smell was

Well, once the nozzle cuts off for the first time, just go over, close off the gate, and pump the handle a few times, or as you're pulling it out, tilt it upwards for a few seconds to let the excess flow back down before you remove the nozzle. With a couple extra seconds I can guarantee no gas spills on the car or yourself
Same thing happened to me last semester in speech class... everyone was sniffing around trying to figgure out what smelled like gas. I smoothly suggested it could be the construction in the room next to us. I don't think it flew.
well it sucks for me because i live in Oregon and we have people do it for us so i just get out and watch them hold it.
it was kinda funny a few weeks ago i was filling her up and the guy was so careful but spilled gas all over the ground.......[sm=lame.gif] he cursed sooooo much. lol lol lol lol[sm=roll.gif]

Some random guy at the gas station yesterday tried to tell me I wasnt pumping it right cause it was spilling out. Then he tried and it was spilling out even more, and I was like hah! not that easy is it? My advise is the same as everyone elses, go slow.
