Default carb rebuild...

hi guys,
how difficult is it to rebuild a holley carb? i figured it would be alot cheaper to pick up a used double pumper that needs a rebuild and the holley carb book. is it difficult to build?

it seems like all you do is take it all apart, clean everything and replace what looks to be worn out?

thanks for your help,
carl

Its not too tough, there are a few differences that can mess things up, like power valve gaskets.
There are 3 different ones and the wrong two will dump fuel at a high rate.
Dont over tighten any screws while putting it together.
Dont use chapstick on the gaskets, just get the reuseable ones.
I would recomend pickin up some clear sight plugs also, they help alot when setting the floats.
An old coffe can works well as a carb stand while you are working on it.
Get a jet tool or a really large flat blade stubby screwdriver, messing up the jets isnt fun.
Take your time follow the book. after two or three of them, you wont need the book so much.

Have fun with it, feel free to pm me if you have any questions while doing it.. Could probably help you on the phone if you really need it.
