Need Help Identifying Block

Default Need Help Identifying Block

I was told its a 302. The Block # is C5AF-6015E

it is a normal 1965 289

What color would the block and heads originally be for this engine? Its being rebuilt and its time to paint. (both block and heads are 289, block is 65, heads are stamped w/ "66". From what little I have read about it, it appears they should be black. Is this true?
