I just installed new hoses, new stat and everything.. Now I see my rad has a leak it did not have before[:@] Just ordered a new heavy duty three row I was going to drain it anyway to install a new water temp sensor for my digital dash so, it's not wasted work... Just venting.

Just a note about your venting... Know what you mean - believe me, with these classics it's one step forward, two steps back. Everytime I do something to my '65 Fastback GT it leads to five other issues to deal with, so don't feel bad. There are times I walk out of my shop frustrated, lock the door and don't come back for a few days, lol. Part of the journey in this hobby. Everyone goes through it. Good luck to you.

Thanks Man.. I know, I ran into this in the past with a few other cars I had. The one that had me pulling my hair out with one brake problem after another was a 69 Roadrunner (Sorry I ever sold it)..

Yeah, know what you mean about having sold a vehicle we once had - for one reason or another we let it go and later we rue the day we did so. Nice '66 coupe by the way. How's that thing run with 3.55 gears and an automatic? Just curious. I have 3.25 gears with a Toploader 4spd and I am going to a T-5 because it runs @ 2780 rpm @ 60 mph in 4th. Talk about going to the gas pums a lot, lol.

i used to have a 68 coupe that i had bought in hopes of making into a trans am notchback car. I actually got far with it, dropped a 351w in it, c6 4 speed and a 9 inch rear to boot. It was so awsome, had the interior all stripped down ready for a roll cage and the such.....uhhh than got to pre occupied with the 67 i have now, and the 68 just sat and rotted, so at a garge sale one day a guy offered me 5500 hundred for it, and i took it Eh who know what i would have really done with it, prolly wrecked it at the track, But if i could have saved any of my cars it would have been my 79 L82 corvette i had, damn thing was awsome, black with red interior, 42,000 original miles, just couldnt get it to pass emissions for some odd reason lol, sold it to my dad, he got it to pass, and sold it for 2 grand more than what he gave me......*****[:@]

At 60mph it should be at 2860 rpm (with a final drive at 1:1). I have not had it on the highway yet to verify my figures yet. I have spent more time working on it then driving it. Got it on 9/20/05 and have done alot of work..

New;
Front disk brake conversion with power booster
Front 620 rate springs
New front and rear 1 inch sway bars
All new front bearings
Total rebuild of rear end with new 3:55's and Richmond Posi unit
New Edelbrock 500 Performer carb
Chrome HI-PO valve covers
Chrome Air cleaner
Chrome Ault
Chome Pulley's
Chrome Fan
Chrome Tower brase
Chrome Tower caps
Accel shield wires
Plugs
Elect ignition
Dakota Digital Dash cluster (in the process of installing)
3 row radiator (in the process of installing)
Optima Battery
and a few others.

2860 rpm @ 60, huh? Guess you will be visiting your local pumps frequently too, lol. I mean I like the old 4spd I have but have to go to a T-5 to stop sucking gas and to save the wear and tear on my engine. But for now I will stay with the Toploader, got lots of other things yet to do. Since I got the car running in November I have been tinkering with the motor instead of doing the things I have to finish i.e - headliner install, both door glass assemblies, paint all the back interior parts and install the back fold down seat. Rather drive it around when the weathers nice but eventually I will get back to finishing the interior.

Well, thats a guess based on a 1:1 output on the green dot C4 transmission I have. Have not had it on the road yet to check that.. It had 3.00 gears in it and changed it to 3:55's

ORIGINAL: 65GTin GA

2860 rpm @ 60, huh?
