Default fuel gauge

little info, my names shawn and i got a 1953 ford f-100. i put a 1966 mustang fuel tank with the correct mustang fuel sending unit.
i put new tpi gauges in the truck. the fuel gauge reads 1/2 tank when the fuel tank is completly empty. when i move the float up it does go to full on the gauge but wont go down to empty. now i fugure the ohms are different from gauge to sending unit, is there a way to correct this. i know people put aftermarket gauges in classic mustangs so i thought i'd go to the people who know. the sending unit that they sent with the gauges will not work with the fuel tank. please help im ready to start it up after a 7 year build. thanks shawn.

You'll have to buy a gauge that has the correct ohm range with the sending unit...... i believe.

Sounds like a great time to upgrade the gauges in your F truck!
