Default Replacing the manifold

Quickie: do i need to pull the distributor out when I change my stock manifold into a Torker 2 ?
Or can it be done with the distributor in place?

It's easier to pull it. Less problems in the long run.

it's easier ok, but is it necessary ?
If its not necessary, i don't really wanna do it because i have to get it running again by monday and i don't wanna mess up my timing.

You should be able to get a good idea by leaving the distributor in while you pull the old manifold. I would take the thermostat housing off. The new manifold should not be that much different by the distributor. The biggest problem will be making sure the gaskets don't shift when you put the new one on.
