Default Back Spacing

I am new to this forum because I just recently bought a beautiful 66 mustang. It has very ugly wheels on it and I want torque thrust II's. My problem is that it has a Ford 9in rear end which is a little wider that stock. I want to go with a 17x9r 17x7f or 16x9r 16x7f, will a 9 inch rim fit and if so what backspacing do I need?

It depends on how much wider the 9 inch rear end is. I have 5 1/2 under my 67
