I really don't like Firefox personally, but I'm all for alternatives to IE. I use Opera 7.5, by far the best designed and intergrated browser out there. Every site works, no pop-ups, and it's free, though I also do use Ad-aware 6 for good measure. I know you can get Opera for free at www.download.com it's usually one of the highest on the list.

The back button won't work

Sometimes i randomly get logged out

Sometimes new, "unread" posts will mark themselves as read

Sometimes new, "read" posts will mark themselves as unread.

the list goes on...i know the problems are minor but it can be pretty aggravating at times so i thought i'd bring this up and see if there is any support for this.

#1. The back button won't work = Your history is being cleared either by your settings or you personally. You need to keep atleast one day of history in your settings to use the back button.

#2. Sometimes i randomly get logged out = If you have a "clean up" program running in real time in the background and it removes cookies, you will get logged off as soon as the MF cookies are removed. Go to your "clean up" program and tell it to never remove MF cookies. Also, you must ALWAYS check the cookies box when logging on to MF.

#3. Sometimes new, "unread" posts will mark themselves as read = Again, this is related to a program that you have running in the background that is removing your MF cookies.

#4. Sometimes new, "read" posts will mark themselves as unread = This happens when you log out, your history is cleared, your cookies are cleared, and then you log back in. This comes back to your first question of why your back button doesn't work sometimes. Again, this is related to a program setting that you have running in the background that is removing your MF cookies. You need to find out which program it is and change the setting. There are so many out there that I can't help you with that. The worst part, is a lot of people don't even know what programs they have running in the background, including me half the time, because I forget. [:@]

As mentioned above, firefox has a few issues. Like Proffessor Wizard, I use Netscape 7.2, and the only issues I have is when our server routing from the West Coast is fuggered up or slow.

My OS and programs:
XP pro
Netscape 7.2
Microsoft anti-spyware
Avast Anti-virus

My history is set to retain one day
My cookies are set to remember MF (and a few other important sites)

I hope that helps, good luck.

I'm aware of the things you listed Hot Rods and i assure you that that is not my problem. I visit about 4 other forums on FF and i don't have any problems. I do not have any spyware on my PC, i do a weekly clean up and i have enough technical knowledge to know how to avoid and clean my computer manually if i am infected beyond adware's cleaning capabilities.

I did, however, not know that FF was outdated on my PC so i installed the latest update and we'll see how things are going to run with that.

Thanks for all the feedback and support.
