Default FireFox Problems

I have been ignoring this problem for several months while using FF to visit the site, but i thought i should post about it.

While visiting this site using FF i get random problems. For instance, i'll make a post and after the post is done i'll get redirected to the very last page of the Classic Mustangs forum instead of the thread i just posted in.

The back button won't work

Sometimes i randomly get logged out

Sometimes new, "unread" posts will mark themselves as read

Sometimes new, "read" posts will mark themselves as unread.

the list goes on...i know the problems are minor but it can be pretty aggravating at times so i thought i'd bring this up and see if there is any support for this.

Ah another item i just experienced... After viewing a post, and trying to use the back button to return back to the list (which wont work) i click the "classic Mustangs" link at the bottom of each thread which sends me back to the forum, except that now all of the threads are randomly arranged and i have no idea which thread is latest and/or which one's ive already checked. This problem can only be fixed if i close FF and return to the site.

Unfortuantely this is one of hte biggest reasons as to why i stopped coming to this site so frequently--the frustration of attempting to navigate things and figure out how to make them work has been to much of a time burden for me.

I also refuse to use IE as shifty has stated a pretty good reason and due to its instability. FF works great on other forums, but won't cooperate on this one.

I use IE and never have a problem with popups, AND I dont use a pop up blocker. I use Adaware, Hijackthis, and cwshredder to make sure no unwanted programs are installed on my computer. Sounds like you guys have some of those.

Actually, some of those problems I've never heard of. However, the site isn't designed to use Firefox. As most sites aren't. The back button not working is pretty common with Firefox. Right click on the back button, and select the page you want to go back to.

Some of the other stuff sounds like spyware. Make sure you run Ad-aware and Spybot often to keep your system clean. Then give the site another try.

I use Netscape 7.2...

So far.. very stable...

A few months ago - before they upgraded this site - every now and then I would post in one thread, and then have my post magicly appear in another thread, but that hasn't happened in a VERY long time.

My first thoughs would be you have some conflicting software running though.... Firefox is a close cousin to Netscape and you shouldn't be having near as many issues as you are!

no probs here with IE. got Broadband so there is virtually no lag in loading pics, but i just like the ease of IE since i've used it for like ever. Installing Service Pack 1 and maybe two will probably help with the pop-ups. Try runnning ad-aware too.

I've been using Firefox version 1.5.0.1 for a while and haven't noticed any of these problems on this forum. My back button works just the same as when I come here using IE (which is very rare anymore). I have no doubt something is going on but I don't believe it would be a direct conflict between the Firefox browser and this forum in particular. If it were, then it would seem reasonable to expect ALL Firefox users to have the same or similar troubles.
