well if you put on a new pump and still leaking from the same spot i would have to say the timing cover has a chip, bend, crack. Take off the timing cover and water pump and hold them together as if in the car and look around where they touch for any open spaces or cracks. thats all i can think of from what i hear

Ok thanks. I might just do that, but I dread having to take even more things apart to get the timing cover off... Ooh well.
Thanks, I'll give you guys a report when I tear into it, maybe I'll start tomorrow.

Just picked up a new water pump gasket and some blue RTV silicone tonight. I'm gonna start on it tomorrow.

How long should I wait for the RTV to cure properly? 24hrs?

Well I tore into it today. I got the water pump off and replaced the gasket with a new one, put a decent amount of blue RTV on it and put it back together.
Unfortunately while tightening up all the bolts one of those suckers broke off! The last quarter inch of the bolt broke off inside the ear of the timing cover at the top of the water pump. I circled it in the picture. Now I have to figure out how to get that chunk of bolt out of there ARG!

wow im still trying to figure out how u broke it. make sure the bolt wasent to long...take a drill with a bit that is a little small enough not to ruin the thread but big enough to get the bolt out.

Ya' my dad asked the same question, and to tell you the truth I don't know how it broke either. And that was the second bolt to break, the first one broke while trying to take the pump off for the first time. It started tightening up then it started going easy again, so I kept tightening it and then Snap! Well anyway I am going to ACE hardware and buying all new bolts Grade 8 bolts...
I have a suspicion that I will have to replace the entire Timing cover because it appears that water is leaking from one of the bolt holes, and that bolt shouldn't go all the way throught the cover...
What a job thats going to be...

You might aswell change the timing chain while you are in there.

Ok, well I worked on it some more today... Had to drill that bolt out of the timing cover. I went out and bought all new bolts for that whole area of the engine. I bought a new gasket and reinstalled everything. If it leaks again, I will just drive it to a shop and have them put on a new Timing cover and probably timing chain also.

Thanks for all the help guys...

Doug
