Oh, I kind of thought that was what it was. Never heard it called that. I always referred to it as the rear deck platform. Learn something new every day.

ORIGINAL: daver

Its the platform that is behind yer back seat and inside the rear window.

Ain't ejumikashun something? I also learned something from you. So, now we have two nomenclatures for the cheap tray that fits behind the back seat. I priced one from one of the mustang vendors, and they wanted more than I could buy a whole 4X8 piece and cut it myself. I used the leftover to cover part of my work bench. Makes a nice cover to keep oil and chit off the work bench.

when you paint it, hit it first with some krylon primer, then the paint will not soak in as bad

Yup, I know. Mine broke in half so, I used 1/4 plywood then covered it in vinyl. Then dyed it to match the color of the seats (Pony Blue).. Looks good.

OK, that will work, but the originals were made from masonite. Not real inventive on Ford's part, but that is exactly what they used.

Yeah I know. At this point I was not thinking about originality, just about how sturdy it would be and not break again anytime soon. With the rims, digital dash and stuff, she is far from original now.
