Which one
Hey everybody i am new to the classics but I got a few questions about them that maybe you guys could answer for me. Alright so I am mainly looking for an older mustang to basicly drive for fun. I am not sure if it will be a daily driver yet or not it all depends on how much insurance is for one. So what do you guys think would be a good mustang to get for the money? Also what should I expect to pay for insurance because I looked it up and they said it would be around 7k a year which seems kind of high? (I looked it up on the internet) How much horsepower could a stock transmission and rear end hold on the car you list? From just looking around I thought about maybe getting a 71-73 Mustang Mach 1 and putting a 460 big block in it. So would the transmission and rear end to hold up to 600+ HP and 600+ TQ on a Mach 1? Do you guys think that a Mach 1 is a good choice or am I completely misguided? Another thing how hard is it to put a 460 big block in a Mach 1 because I read that they were made to take the biggest engines that Ford made?
Thanks for all your info and opinions.

The insurance cost depends on your age and driving record. With that kind of quote, you are obviously very young and maybe have a bad driving record. If this is no the case, I apologize, but that is just a ridiculous quote.
as for insurance, i cant say because my car isnt driveable so its not insured, or registered, lol. just titled. but for a more accurate quote try calling your insurance company.
as for the 460, you can whatever you want, if you put something that big in though, maybe try a manual 4-speed, a C-6 auto, or a new Tremec Heavy Duty 5-speed manual. if its a c4 or an fmx in it, it may not be able to hand that power. If it were up to me, i'd go with a normal size engine like a 351 or a 302 and just mod that. saves on gas too. i liek the boss351 and the boss9, but its really up to you. when you do decide, make sure to get some pics

if you want a 71 - 73 mach 1, ti save on cost, you might just want to buy a normal fastback and buy the ram air hood and a new grille, and the decals of course. as for the big block, a nice 351 or 302 with mods, in my opinion, would be the best choice.
I'm 20 with a negligent driving on my record. I paid 1600ish for the previous 6-month term with Allstate. I just talked to farmers and they think they can get me in at 1200ish for 6/mo.
7k for insurance is f'n ridiculous
