Guide plates
Ok, with that said the Edelbrock heads must be able to use roller rockers and they also must know what brand to use. I'm going to call them in the morning..

So do Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads (which I chose), the guideplates keep everything aligned for roller rockers. Be sure to use hardened pushrods for use with guideplates.

I was told these would work on a Edelbrock 302 head. Roller Rockers

Most any right sized rollers will work on Edelbrock heads - the problem is clearance inside the valve cover. After much research I chose the Trick Flows because they make matching rollers for them (I ordered them) and because Trick Flow Twisted Wedges are raised .350 along the valve cover rim for clearance with my stock height Cobra covers. Problem solved for me and I like not having hassles, LOL.

Don't they also keep everything alligned for non-rollers? Had them in a stock 86 5.0 and it was roller lifters, but not roller rockers....

Ok so, it sounds like the OEM Hipo valve covers I have will be toast when I install these new heads.. Dam!!
