A T5 is a 5 speed manual transmission found in foxbody mustangs. 1979-1993. I think they were in the 1994-1996 as well. They are a common swap for a classic mustang.

I put a T-5 in my 64 1/2 vert to allow for interstate driving. The actual tranny itself I got for free. It was shot. I rebuilt it and bought the adapter kit to use a 3 speed bell housing (if you use a T-5 bellhousing you need to clearance the firewall) and it bolted right up to my 289. I used a repop 3 speed shift **** and nobody knows. The driveshaft had to be shortened 1 1/2 inches. Really easy and straightforward swap.
