chrome removal

Default chrome removal

Anyone ever have any luck removing or painting over a chrome finish? I know there are specialty places that will do it for a fee, are there any "home" remedies I can try?
Thanks for any advise.

You could glass bead it, then prime, then paint it.

there is no way of getting rust off chrome without completely ruining it then having to rechrome it right???

i got a free chromed fan shround and theres a bit of rust on the inside of it.....i just dont know the way to attack that type of fixing?
