Default gas mileage (again?)

sorry folks, just got an '04 vert with 3.9 v-6. first tank of gas only yielded 21mpg. you guys doing any better? cause that's pitiful mileage for a little engine. note; we're almost 70 yrs old and drive like it too.

How many miles are on the car? O2 sensors, air filter, etc, can cause bad mileage. You may just need a tune up. Welcome to the board!

Is your car an auto? Is that all city driving or some highway, or a blend??

I get 26 to29 mpg depending on top up or down. Best is 31.5 if I can hold her back to 55mph. I do mainly highway though.

car has all of 19k miles on it. had a code reader put on it, no codes showing. checked air cleaner, new. sure hope it does a bit better especially with the price of gas going up daily here. see where some stations in cal. are at almost 4 bucks a gal.!
thanks for the comebacks guys, we do appreciate it.
