Default need help... stowing a surfboard

alright so I live by the shore, and i'm a surfer. im trying to find out if any of you guys are surfers too, and how u transport your board in your vert. There's a guy near me with a z3 that somehow straps his board down with the top down, but I wanna hear of some surefire ways before i put an expensive board on the line

i dont know how long your board is but i have a 6' 2" and i can sit the tail end in the passenger floorboard and lean the pass seat all the way back and it will lay in there fine. you might wanna put the seatbelt around it to keep it from sliding, but thats about the only way that i know it will fit. and you can pretty much kiss it goodbye with the top up.
