Default Vert Effect Performance?

I overheard someone saying a convertible effects car performance in terms of racing/speed, just wanted to know if it was true or not?

yeah. the verts are normally a little slower because the added weight. they also dont hve as stiff handling as a coupe because the lack of support. but i have heard that you can get a set of subframe connectors and it will stiffen up the car alot.

+1. I have subframe conectors &strut tower braces. I have driven v6 coupes, and mine drives just as good if not better. I will do a battery relocation to the trunk next.

I've heard transmission choice has a bigger effect on performance difference than vert/coupe does.

..a vert with a 5 speed can have a performance edge over a coupe with an auto tranny, given the 5 speed driver knows how to drive
