I'm assuming that if I have to disconnect the cylinders because of a leak, I can raise and lower the top by hand???

Unit 91,

Yes, you can raise and lower the top by hand relatively easily after the cylinders are unbolted from the frame. It is however much easier to do this with two people.

In fact, this is the way most people who can't spend the money to fix the hydraulics raise and lower the top.

I may soon be counted in that number! I made some jerry rigged repairs but they certainly aren't permanent. I have found, finally, a garage about 1 1/2 hours away that says the frame can be repaied and they can do it, so we'll see how that visit plays out. I appreciate your response to my question. Thanks!
