Cool rag top separating from rear window. Help!

I've got an 05. Recently the convetible top, where it overlaps and adheres to the outside edge of the rear window, is separating; right now about 60% is separated. I want it fixed and I'm concerned about water issues but it's been bone dry here in Atlanta lately, thankfully.

Is this a repair I can do or does it require a dealer? If it's something I can do, does anyone know what I should order to do the repair properly?

Thanks All!
Mike

Most places will say go for a full top replacement.

If you want to try salvaging the existing one, this might help:

I would not take it to a dealer, I would not even THINK about taking it to a dealer.

You need a pro top installer. Even if you have to pay when ordered and drive a distance to have it installed. There is a definite art to a convertible top.
Maybe they can fix yours, maybe not. But a pro installer is worth the cost.

Agree with this 110%. Top replacement is one of those areas where experience and skill count for a lot. If you do go that route, take it to a pro.

I forgot, there should be a screw & bushing kit available for your particular model. These bushings should be a good, easy & inexpensive DIY project. It would be a good idea to have these parts replaced before you have the top serviced or replaced. Then the top will look and perform as new.
