Default Scratch

Yeah I have a had a scratch on my hood for some time now. I don't know where it is from but its not very deep. What is the best way to get rid of or minimize this scratch? Thanks.

If it is just a scratch to the clear coat, then just buy some wax/polish with micro-resin to fill in the clear. But if it is a scratch to the actual paint, then you can buy this thing that kinda looks like a marker which is a paint-type filler that you buy in specific colors and just rub it into the scratch and let it dry. This may not be the best way to do it but it works pretty good, besides unless you want to go spend big$$ to have a body shop do it, it is worth a try. P.S. You could probably find this at a local AUTOZONE or just ask around.
Hope this helps, good luck.

ok, go to kragen or an autobody shop and get 2000 tread sandpaper, YES SANDPAPER, you can ask the guys, its auto body sandpaper, then when you get home fold it in like 4 pieces. Then get a bucket and dip the paper in the bucket, clean where the scratch is and run across it gently, this will take some of the clear coat off where the scratch is if its not too deep. Dot his a couple times and then buff it out and polish it. the part that you sand will be white but dont worry it will come off as long as you do it right. then if its thin it will come off. Run across the scratch with ur nail if you can feel it with your nail it wont come off. Im an autobody guy so I know, but try it just dont sand too much!

Should be able to get that at good parts stores too. I've seen it at a pep boys around here. The wet part is key though, you have to do that.
