just wondering if someone could tell me a little about the following paint process, thanks.

I have a Silver '99 stang. What I want to do is add a black pearl top coat to give my silver a black accent as all the trim etc. on the car is black. My question is, does the car need to be completely repainted or can it be like wetsanded down or something and just a minor respray done and the peqrl added, also what approximate cost am I looking at?

If anyone has any comments or can foresee potetial problems please let me know.
