id stick to urethane,fiberglass tends to be cheap and not all that flexible,if you bottom out on a fiberglass one thats pretty much it for it you get cracks,and all kind of other problems, with urethane you just get a scratch,some touch up paint and its all good,just my opinion.
My body kit is urethane and am very happy with it. It is tough as hell and will flex enough to avoid much damage. My stang gets drivin year around in iowa.
im from texas too, and i live in houston, and its twice as worse as u think...the roads in houston really are not that great, so yea u always get chipped.[:@]
