Default Pony Package Interior

I've had my 2006 with the Pony Package for about 3 months. It is the car of my dreams. I love this car and am a total freak when it comes to protecting it from dirt, scratches, dings, etc. This morning I went over the entire inside dusting and cleaning, checking for scratches, etc. Just about an hour I took it out and I discovered not one but TWO scratches on the steering wheel and driver side door handle. My son had moved the car earlier in the day just backing it out of the garage and my husband was driving it at the time I discovered the scratches. CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH WHAT I CAN DO TO HOPEFULLY GET THESE SCRATCHES OFF OR AT LEAST MAKE THEM LESS NOTICABLE???!!!!! One is on one of the three polished chrome trim sections on the "Pony" steering wheel. It is right down the side starting at the top there the leather meets the chrome and is about 2 1/2 inches long (as long as the chrome piece) and ends where the next section of leather is on the steering wheel. I can't for the life of me figure out how it got there. It wasn't there this morning when I was detailing the car but it is a straight line scratch down the edge of this metal piece on the right hand section of the "pony" wheel. It's not deep, you can't feel it but you sure can see it. Is there anything I can rub on it to make it go away??? Also, on the driver side door the handle that you pull to get out has a scratch on it that I think happened when either my son or husband may have been getting out and they must have had the keys in their hand when they pulled the handle and this is how that scratch got there. It's very small but still, it's there on my near perfect car. I'm crazy about this car I tell you and any scratch is a major one to me. Please someone, if you know of any thing that will buff out these scratches or cover them up I would really appreciate the tip. Other wise I guess I'll just have to see if I can get this chrome section replaced. It's going to drive me nuts!!!!!

By the way, my baby is white with tan and chocolate leather interior, the V6 with the Pony Package, tan stripe down the sides. It's an absolute dream!!!!!!

If I understand correctly, both scratches are on the chromed trim pieces? I do interior repairs and restoration on cars for a living. Believe me, I'm just as paranoid and insanely picky about my car too. I'm a total freak when it comes to my interior. I can fix and repair just about anything on the interior, but chrome is not something I can do anything with. If it's not chrome, and just a metallic silver color, that I can recreate. I know the auto stores do sell chrome spray paint. I have not ever used it, but you could sand the scratches down, then paint. I honestly would not reccommend doing that though, I'm just giving you an option. I wouldn't because doing it yourself, you have no recourse if the color doesn't match, just doesn't look right, or even if you get overspray. I have products to take it off, but don't want you to get into that mess. I hate to say it but, I think you're kinda screwed. I don't know of any products that will fix scratches, especially chrome.

There is really nothing you can do if they are on the chrome looking plastic. Except maybe talk to your dealer, maybe they can replace them or know how to fix it?
