what you do is wetsand them down good with 2000 grit sand paper till they feel smooth. And i mean smooth. Dont rush this take about 15 to 20 minitues. Then get some compound and buff them down

Read this article. And hope that most of the haze is on the outside. I just replaced mine, I found a good deal on a set of used headlights on ebay and swapped them out. Good luck.

go to 5.0 resto.com and buy new headlights, they're cheap and look sharper than any buffed lights.

That is pretty inexpensive for the 99-00 ones. Why is it that the 01-04 ones (tinted) are so much cheaper? do they fit the same?

are the oem quality?

Don't buy oem replacement headlight cause they will fog up like they are now in 5 years. If you do get new ones buy better ones. Go to your local auto store and they sell headlight cleaning kits. Try them and if they don't work return it, and try another one.

I bought a set of lights off of Ebay...I really spent some time looking and found an auction that was relatively poorly written, but still had good quality lights. I got the set for $50 plus $15 shipping, I was the ONLY bid on the lights, and I believe that was because the title was kinda vague and did not have the right "Search" words. They were off of an 03 GT and matched my 02 GT perfect, and look like new. Spend some time looking and you can find some good deals.

Unless you've had the misfortune to put an abrasive cleaner like plastic polish toothpaste or worse sandpaper on your headlights, your problem is most likely oxidation. Use Pittman's Original One Step Automotive Lens Restorer.
It will deoxidize the headlights without causing abrasive damage the lens or the protective U.V. layer. It is a pure liquid wipe on formula that works on contact, Takes about 60 seconds from start to finish.
There is nothing on the market today that works as fast or is as efficient.
