Painted calipers
I painted my brake calipers a while back.
Just wanted to post some pictures, and report
on the two types of paint I used.
I used two products, three coats each:
G2 epoxy (red) on the caliper and Dupli-Color spray (Black) on the anchor plate.
The G2 results in a very smooth & glossy surface, while
Dupli-Color comes out more of a satin (although the cap looks glossy).
Both are holding up well. The G2 definitely looks much nicer,
however, I did notice a small chip on one side, so I wish I
had saved a small amount unmixed for touch-up.
Later touch-ups is one advantage of the spray has.
I created a stencil using the sticky part of a post-it note an x-acto knife,
and spayed the pony right over the dried G2.
I found I could only use the stencil once, so you would
either need to use a different material, or make one for each caliper.

wow that turned out really good. i have a black stang so i was thinking of painting the calipers black with a silver pony or GT or something but after lookin at yours i like the look of the pony. did u paint the pony on all 4 calipers? excellent job!!!
Thanks for all the complements!
mustangmike06: While I painted all four calipers,
I only put the ponys on the front. It takes a lot of time.
I later found a company that makes decals and sells them for $8,
which appears to be a much easier way, but I don't know how they would hold up.

Well, I wondered if these were any good.
Also, did you take a look at some of the other ones on that web site?
E.g.

The rust, dirt, and pitting add to the "visual enhancement".
Look closer at the dirt pitting, and you will they used the
same POS caliper for all of them!
