Default Honeycomb replacement

Anyone know where I can get a replacement for the stupid honeycomb inserts in the scoop of the '04 GT? They have to be the worst idea ever. They retain so much water, then it spills out all over a freshly washed car leaving a dried water streak across the hood.
Anyway, I would like to replace it, as well as the ones in the side scoops. Any links?

Thanks!!

screw it!.. just get the shaker hood kit to replace the problem... LOL I think however you can take off the scoop and remove the honey comb.... not sure if youd want to do that... but i think i saw a guy that did it and it looked pretty decent..

anyhow,
i'll keep my eyes open

no ideas huh? I dont really have any specific style in mind.
Today I took the scoop off to see if I could remove the insert. You can. I was going to leave it off, but there is one problem. It will leave 2 holes in the hood that the screw passes thru to the retaining nut. Water will pass thru these holes into the engine compartment. Unless you filled the holes with some type of calk or filler. Then I am not sure how it would look.

just to make it easy for you... take a lot of paper towels and shove them up in there while you are dryig the rest of your car and when you are done detailing it pull them out and waalaa no more water! Thats what I do anyhow!

I open the hood for a minute after washing it. It helps drain it but you still have to keep wiping it for the next few minutes.

When I dry my car I just push down on the hood right infront of the scoop, usually a river of water comes out for 10-15 secs. Then as I dry the rest of the car I swing by the hood and wipe it down again and continue on.

They make aftermarket billet grills for both the side scoops and hood scoop. This won't solve your problem. The only way to eliminate the water puddling under the scoop is to remove it. Then re-apply it but this time add some sealant around the edged where everything touches everything. Then your puddling will be reduced to almost nothing. I did it on mine when I had a GT and it worked.
