Default Need Help Bigtime...

Ok, so, I have a Black 2004 Mustang GT. We recently started using our sprinklers again for the first time since I got the car, and there's this nasty junk all over it. I've tried everything I think I can safely do, from washing it to a clay bar kit, and nothing has even faded it yet. It's something that's in the well our sprinkler-water is drawn from (I know that because of where the stuff is on my car, all over the side facing the yard where I park and none where it faces my sister's car), and I'll see if I can't get some pictures later. Is there anything someone can suggest to help with this problem?

Try using a polish or cleaner wax and see what that does. It should come off with no problem.

Meguiars 3 step, Cleaner-Polish-Carnuba Wax might do the trick. If not a porter cable 7424 with a good cutting pad and paint cleaner should take care of it. If you don't want to spring for the buffer a detailer could probably get her back in shape.

Good Luck

Yes the Porter cable is a great investment. Very worth the money. Very safe to use too.

Kit "Scratch Out" in the yellow bottle has always worked well for me.

Cool! I've wanted to get a polisher for awhile now but wasn't quite sure what model to buy. If this comes highly recommended, I'll take your advice! My Mustang still looks great because it's new, but my red '98 pickup is beginning to oxidize and needs some serious work...but I'm not about to put two days of elbow grease into it if a buffer can cut the work in half. Thanks for the tip!

Would you guys recommend using this on a black car? I've heard never to use a buffer on black paint, so I'm very hesitant. Will it swirl? Any risks? I mean, EVERY LITTLE DETAIL shows on my black GT as it is, and I've never used a buffer before so I don't want to screw up and do something to the paint that I won't be able to correct! Thoughts?
