Default Bad Rock Chip

Alright, haven't had the car for that long and I already have a very noticeable rock chip on the front of the hood and it looks like it went pretty deep, maybe even to the metal.

My experience has been that most paint work is pretty expensive, but is there a way to fix this small blemish without resorting to repainting the whole hood?

I have tried touch up paint on a previous car and I absolutely screwed it up, so there is NO way I am trying that on the Mustang.

Can the professionals do touch up work like this and get good results? Anyone else had something like this done and if so, how were the results and how much did it cost?

go to your dealer, sometimes they have guys come in and do touch up work on used cars before they go on the lot. ive seen them at my dealer. ask them for there number. if anything take it to a couple body shops, most will give a free est. good luck

Man that stinks! I used ScratchX on a rock chip I had on my car and it was almost gone in 1-2 weeks of applying it every day.

Guess what? You are going to get more rock chips. It's the nature of the beast. For some reason mustangs get more than their fair share of them. You should see Leadfoot's car as well as mine. While looking for a used car for myself, I don't think I saw one without chips in the paint. I think Ford uses cheap paint but that's my opinion.
