I have a 94 GT Convertible - black. I used a product called Black Magic - Tire Wet.
It works great on tires and it worked great on the vinyl black top as well.
Made it look almost new.

I have used that stuff too, but you will hate life when you try to get it off the windows after it rains. I have not found a good product that will bring out the shine and not run. I just put a new top on, the guy who did it only recommends soap and water, but it will fade and look dull. So I dont have an answer. Anybody else have any suggestions?

Use 303 Aerospace Protectant! Works great on vinyl tops and exterior trims. I use it on my top and all the trim on all my vehicles. It costs a little more but works great. It has UV protectant, most others don't. Works better than Back to Black or Exterior Trim Detailers

There is some stuff called Ragg Topp that is designed for conv. tops. They have top and cleaner and a top protector. You can get both in a kit. I know autogeek.coom sells it.

+1

Use products that are designed for vert tops. Clean the top completely and then apply the protectant. Griotsgarage.com has good products too.
