does anybody have one installed in thier car? Im looking for a good place to mount it, but i dont want it in the middle of the windshield like it was. maybe off to the side or something? and also, where can the antenna attatch to the car, other then the roof?

 

Not sure about the Sportster....however, i've found that the Starmate (below) is a perfect fit in the shelf/storage thing below the stereo in 94-98's. As for the antenna, i have a vert, so i put mine on the trunk lid without using that 8" or so long piece. It sits right on the front edge of the trunk lid and reception is great

I have the sportster installed in my car. I don't know of any other place you would put the antenna except on teh roof...maybe on the trunk? I don't know how you'd wire that so it wouldnt interfere with opening and closing the trunk. I have my sporster installed in my cup holder. The way I did it was to glue a 3" cicular mirror in the bottom of the holder for the suction cup to mount onto. It came out really clean and the pluses I can tell are that it doesnt restrict your windshield view, its harder to see and therefore steal, and it easier to run the power wire to the power source in the center console than running it all the way around the steering wheel. The only downside is now I only have one cup holder. Sorry for the long post. GL on your install

 

I like the sound of that idea. right now, one cuphoder is cahnge, the other for my cell(no drinks in this car!) . Could you post any pics of this setup?
