Default First wash after waxing

My car looks good after waxing, but it looks even better after the next wash. I don't know why... maybe the wash smooths the layer of wax?

Just an observation.

I read somewhere that if you spray the car with a light mist of cold water right after waxing the wax will lay down better. That might be whats happened to yall cars. I know on our 93 it shines a lot right after I wash it.

That's good to know, thanks. I like a perfect finish, but unfortunately don't have the time to do a regular 3-step clean-polish-wax process. All I do is wash, then apply Maguire's Gold Class wax (which I imagine has a little bite to it), then I sit back and admire.
