Any tips/tricks/products for cleaing your engine compartment? My car is an '05 V6 and I'm about to start making the compatment look better (air intake sitting here, waiting to be installed).

I keep my engine pretty clean. I just spray on CD2 engine detailer. If the engine is dirty spray on some kind of all purpose cleaner first.

Is it ok to hose off your engine if it's really dirty or should you always use a wet rag?

You can use a hose but I wouldn't use a lot of pressure.

I'd be scared I'd get water in my electronics. I just wipe my engine down weekly. Wait till it cools down though. Firey rags can be scary.[sm=yikesomg.gif]
