Default O/R or X pipe

Hey all,

I am finally doing the exhaust on my 98 GT. So far I have ordered the Magnaflow SS Cat-back. My question is what is better/difference/performance between:

Bassani Off-Road X-Pipe

Bassani X-Pipe w/ Cat

MAC H-Pipe Off-Road

The prices are very different and I would like to have the best performance/price ratio. Thanks for the opinions!

cats are restrictive....so go with off-road. I have H pipes, but would have preferred to go with Bassani X pipes.

if you go with anything off-road whether it be X or H, be prepared to change it back when you have to get your emissions done. also your check engine light will come on with your model year when ever you run a cat-less exhaust. i got the bbk O/R X on my 96 cobra and it sounds like nothing ive ever heard. but i also live and Fl and have no emissions testing. bassini, very expensive check other options too. bbk, mac, others. good luck

www.mileliminator.com

It tricks your ecu into thinking the O2 sensor is happy. You probably won't make it through emissions testing with them in though (if you have to).

The x pipe design scavenges gasses better giving you better flow but it tones down your exhause a little, the H is more restrictive than the x but has a louder tone. So it pretty much come down to personal preference.

Has anyone just gone with one of these: http://www.exhaustproslinc.com/magmanbenxpi.html

Would you still need a Mileliminator with this installed? Also what is the measurement of the pipes if you go with the Bassani or MAC, do they come 2.5 or same as stock??

If you're looking at MAC, i'd say go with long tube headers, Mac 2.5" prochamber and a 2.5" exhaust sounds wicked and you'll get awesome gains
