If a bird craps on your hood enough it will cost more than $500 to fix. Hell, with the damage you described (I am no body man of any type, this is just a wild *** NON-educated guess), you probably did a couple grand in damage.

Umm...yeah... try describing that to your insurance company... it may not take a lot to break the rear end loose but it takes quite a bit to do a 360 (as in you had it floored and lost control). Plus, while your insurance may cover it, you may be in store for a higher insurance premium.

i'd still go through insurance, i hit a deer in my 99 v6 that i already sold, was around 1.8k in damage, paid 250 to get it fixed and no raise in price, as long as your record is clean and your good you should be fine. the labor and paint is what gets you

i have to vote for paying for the repairs out of pocket. the
savings in possible higher ins. will pay for itself in the long run.

good luck and hopefully a lesson learned....the stangs are powerful and
it's easy to get them going every which way....

Try to see if you can find a body shop that can save you the deductible. When shops are slow, sometimes to get the job they save your $500 or $750 deductible. I speak from experience I've been doing body work for almost 20 years. Also see what brand of paint line they use. Something like Sikkens or Diamont are good products and do they have a quility paint booth.
