Wet sand for scratch removal?
So this is the situation:
I was washing my 04 gt earlier, and the wash cloth I was using had a few nice rocks or pebbles in it. I found this out after I had washed just the front of my car (including the headlights) Now I have a bunch of great scratch marks from the headlights on down. Would wet sanding work to remove this? I read in the other thread about doing this on the headlights, I am just not sure on what "compound" to use. I know I have to use something (water, whatever) just curious what others have used, and their experiences. I just do not want to hafta spend 300 bucks on new headlights!
Thanks for any help.

For paint I would have said try Scratch X but for headlights a fine paper might be your only option. I'm sure some around here have had this happen and they will chime in.
In the meantime, you might do a search and see if you can find any older threads about this topic.

I have done a lot of research on exactly what I am gonna do with the headlights (for some reason, the bumper is not my main concern) and after looking over several options, I am first going to try some Brasso, followed by Novus 3 then Novus 2. I have used Brasso to remove scratches on my Ipod (It worked wonders) and will try it on the lenses next. Novus is a general plastic polish, and works well on my pinballs, so we will see what happens. if this fails, it will be on to wet sanding, and new headlights if I REALLy F it up.
Get yourself a nice wool wash mitt so this doesn't happen again. Wash cloths are about the most cumbersome thing to wash a car with... try a quality mitt and you'll see the difference. Get a second one, maybe cheaper chenille, for the lower body panels and wheels... you'll be glad you did.
