Dumb question....
found out my baby (my car, not my child) is going to be in the homecoming parade day after tomorrow. What's the quickest thing I can do to make it really shine... Turtle Wax Ice? I don't have time for a full-blown polish/seal/wax, etc. How long will Ice take to put on and take off? How about just quick detailer... does that stuff work?
Thanks

IMO....

If I you need to wash and wax, then wash and use Meguiars NXT Tech Wax.

If you don't have to wash (i.e., still shiny all over, but you have driven it for a couple of days) use Meguiars Quik Detailer (Mist and Wipe).

Use micro-fiber all the time....

It's gotta be washed, but that's no biggie because I pretty much wash twice a week... I used the NXT Tech Wax last time, which is great, but I don't have time to do that -- I like to tape off the black trim first because I make such a mess. So, the detailer stuff is basically if you can't wash it? I might try the Ice because people talk about how quick it is to get off and on, and I won't have to tape anything off.

Only use the quick detailer if the paint is pretty clean....like barely dusty. Otherwise it will cause swirls. I would wash it and then add some extra gloss by using the quick detailer. If you didn't need it so quick I have an awesome spray wax that I carry that would do the job!

If you dress the trim you shouldn't have to mask it.

However, we didn't talk about spray waxes yet, and something like FX Spray Wax or another quality spray wax would probably do you real good -- it's like an instant detailer on steroids, and should only take you a few minutes and a few plush microfibers.

For time savings, wash it real good, and use the spray wax as you dry.

i used the turtle wax Ice and it works really well. it even makes the plastics look really shiny, so go ahead and get it on the plastic it will give it a really nice look, goes on easy and comes off fast. works well with microfiber towels to take off. i think the Ice comes with a microfiber towel also.

Thanks, will post pix... you-guys probably won't mind seeing the homecoming court sitting on the back of the car, either.

Juztang, I still plan on getting some product from you... I'm making a list!
