Duplicolor on leather????

Default Duplicolor on leather????

Ive got a 01 gt convertible....silver. It has two tone interior...except for the seats. I wanted to know if duplicolor's vinyl and fabric pait would work on leather and if so...how much work is needed to paid the seats???

I doubt it would work. You'd have to dye the leather.

I would not try it. Talk about a quick way to make VERY exspensive mistake.

The dye won't cost much, but after you do it and the stuff starts cracking and flaking it will cost you a lot to get the seats recovered or to just find a new set.

A buddy of mine "dyed" his seats in his non-Ford with Leatherique, www.leatherique.com, and he's pretty happy. It was a bit of a project as he needed a little airbrush sprayer.

You might be best off getting some recommendations on a shop that specializes in restoring leather, as it may be more of a project than you bargained for. Or get a Katzkin or other quality re-upholster kit.

And I wouldn't try the fabric & vinyl paint -- if you look at the fine print, it probably indicates not to be used on leather. One thing I see happening is a flaking-off of the color -- it wouldn't be good.
