Default Surface scratches

I have a 2002 mustang GT (black) and I love it, but there is surface scratches all over, and those little circular scratches all over the entire car and when it is just cleaned you can clearly see them[:'(]. I do not want to spend the money for a paint job just yet. I was wondering what I could buy to get these scratches out. Thanks

I've been trying to figure out the same thing for a while now, I think I'm going to get one of the guys from my job to either buff or wet sand it.

Well, the problem with black is it is so hard to keep the scrates off, I have a 2001 Bullitt its Highland Green, which is very dark, I have the same problem with dirt/scratches showing up easily. 3M makes a product called Plum Crazy, its like a rubbing compound for dark colors, I would try something like that, the only other option is to wetsand/buff which could leave another problem afterward, wich is swirl marks, any time you buff something, it can easily to create swirl marks. Then you really have a bigger problem then you started with. I would try hand rubbing them out with a 1500 grit or 2000 grit compound, then waxing the car all over.

If all you have are SWIRL marks....

Go to the store and buy some paint cleaner aka wax stripper. I'd try some Meguiars cleaner, then put on atleast 2 coats of Meguiars #2 Polish that is buildable, so you can put on 2 coats. Then slap on some wax and that should take care of your swirl marks, unless you've been drying your car with sandpaper...lol
