I used Meguiars Scratch X on some scratches before I put my SS letter inserts on and it works great.. check it out:This is the stuff I used:

same here i used it once and didnt help me much at all how much did you apply? i heard you gotta apply so much that the scratch cannot be seen when your buffing it

 

If you use a PC with it, it's not that bad to use! You do need to use some elbow grease if your doing it by hand.

 

Is an actual abrasive or is it one of those scam scratch removers that has fillers to make the scratch appear to be gone, wash it once and it's back?

 

Not sure how it actually works.. but I used it just as you would wax. Only I would apply a layer let it dry some then rub pretty hard. I repeted this probably 5-7 times er so.

To my knowledge, Scratch-X does not contain fillers and is a"Light-cut" abrasive.
Several folks have had great results with the product which is now re-formulated for use the PC. The new formula reportedly prevents clogging the pads during use.

 

I just tried it this morning on some very minor "scratches" and a small "hazy/greasy" spot where I'd rubbed off some fresh bird crap with a kleenex, and it didn't do JACK for the miniscule scratches- and only helped a tiny bit (maybe 1/3 less at the very MOST) on that "hazy" spot!
VERY disapponted and pissed-off at the results, needless to say...![>:]
