i just purchased a 89 gt with a burgundy color. i don't personally like the red colors so i was wondering how much it would cost to get it painted a black color. how long would the wait also take. does anyone know how much a good paint job might cost. any help would be appreciated.

 

you want to have it done correctly, pull out engine and do engine bay, door jambs, trunk jamb. I would say at least $1000 just for the labor, materials and body work extra.

 

i've heard about company's like Maaco doing the paint job for cheap, would you reccomend it? what other companies do paint jobs?

 

maaco does paint jobs for cheap, but you get crappy results, they do not even clear coat for $250 or $300 they advertise. They however do great job for $1000 and up. I know a guy that had his Charger painted there, very good paint job. He spent a couple grand or more, do not remember anymore.
