Default Question for all you experts

This is a pic of my brothers hood on his '97 F150. As you can see there are alot of little cracks in the clearcoat. Looks like someone got a razorblade and cut it all over the place. Now it is going to the fender etc. Anyone know how to eliminate this or minimize it? Ive tried to wax it and doesnt seem to have done anything.

Can you feel the scratches if you run your fingernail over it?

If you can feel them they are into the paint and you really can't do anything about it. The hood would have to be repainted. You might be able to use an abrassive polish to minimize the scratches, but since you can feel them they won't come out completely.

Hard to tell from the photo (seems out of focus) but my guess is the clearcoat's failing... get a trusted detailer or paint shop to check it out.
