Since I am trying to get my car looking like it didn't roll out of a corn field, I have been waxing and clay barring about 2 times a week. More if the weather is nice. I have the front half of the car looking close to what I want. When I start it always gets dark before i can get to the back half. So the next wash will be on the back half of the car. After i get the car looking good then probably once a week for wash and wax, don't know how often for claying yet.
I wax my car everytime i wash my car. I clay bar when it feels little rough.
AND YES.. microfiber towels are the best. but if you push too hard you can leave some scratches.
AND I wash my car with a microfiber wash mits too... those suckers work great!!

You haven't seen the car. I am still trying to get all the oxidized crap off of it. I can see a difference afterEVERY clay baring. Though it doesn't seem to help on the side mirrors.
But after I get the car all spick-n-span, then I will probably clay it like you suggest.

Take it from another red LX owner with nice oxidation, you'd be better served hitting the car with a cleaner wax and polish rather than using the clay bar. It'll be a lot faster and you'll get better results.
I wish I had before pics, but I had some pretty good oxidation going. Very hazy reflection. This was after just the first attempt giving it a quick buff.
